The special people who make all things at Holy Cross possible.

About Holy Cross

Welcome to Holy Cross Lutheran Church,  a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA),  located in Wheat Ridge, CO. Thank you for visiting!

Almost 625 members strong, we are teachers and students, executives and secretaries, merchants and laborers, doctors and nurses, lawyers and homemakers, children and retired folk, and everything in between—called together through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

In Christ's love, we are called into being and we are gathered into his body—this community—for the world. In love, we extend to you our heartfelt invitation to join us in worship, in witness, and in our life together. To Know Christ and Share God’s Love is our Mission and we always have room for you and your family. We invite you to come and share it with us!

Yours in Christ,
Rev. Ron Bock, Pastor

Pastor Ron Bock has served as the Senior Pastor of Holy Cross since 2010. He received degrees in Visual Arts from the University of North Dakota in 1979, and a Master of Divinity degree from Luther Northwestern Theological Seminary in 1984. Prior to receiving the call to Holy Cross, he served congregations in Jamestown, ND, Canon City, CO, and Fargo, ND. He is tall, moderately good-looking, and obviously has a great sense of humor.  (Just kidding!)

He and his wife Nancy live in Arvada, where they can be found taking walks around Lake Arbor, reading and relaxing. Pastor Ron also looks forward to the time when he has more time to paint…and fish. They have three grown children of whom they are very proud, but no grandchildren…yet!

I was born and raised in Ohio, daughter to a Lutheran pastor. I attended Capital University and got my BA in Elementary Education and also met my husband, Martin. We moved to Colorado in '91 and I taught until my two kids were born. I got my MA while Grace and Will were small and worked as a substitute teacher. I started working at Holy Cross in '10 as the Director of Education. My main areas are Sunday School for children from preschool through elementary, confirmation, adult education, and vacation bible school. I love that moment when, and it happens frequently, the most profound theological thoughts comes from the mouths of our youngest members.

I also sing in the Sonrise Singers and attend Faith Circle. If I'm not at church or just being a mom, I'm at the gym, reading, gardening, or doing puzzles. I'm a mountain bike fan, more than a rider.

I joined Holy Cross' ministry in January 2018 as a part time Youth and Family Ministry Director. I graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2015 earning my degree in Sociology and Elementary Education. I am a Colorado native and grew up in Boulder/Longmont where I found my passion for youth ministry. Growing up, my Youth Pastor showed me how important youth are in the community which pushed me further to become very involved in the church. I worked a summer at Sky Ranch Lutheran Camp and have a big place in my heart for outdoor ministries. My husband Kyle and I recently got married last June in 2017, and have a son named Lucas. I love spending time with my family, being outdoors, going on walks, and playing at the park!
